Yes the model number is correct the board was made for Compaq running Media center, they offer no support for Xp

You should be able to use the same drivers in XP as for media center. Media Center 2005 is based on XP Pro.

I found a MCP driver in INVIDA that fixed the chipset and Lan drivers. The Media center drivers will not work with the XP. I am now installing the updates for XP in hopes of correcting the other issues.

To me that's strange the media center drivers didn't work. Are you sure you got the correct ones from HP?

As rindi stated, XP drivers are XP drivers whether for Pro, Home, or MCE.  So I don't know what the problem is either.

Since you have chipset and LAN drivers, assume you need video and sound.

Motherboard has nVidia GeForce 6100LE graphics and an nForce 430 chipset.  Here are graphics drivers:

If standard audio chip was used, this should be correct sound driver:

Note:  Compaq may have specified a different AC97 compliant audio chip.

Could also be that the system comes with different configurations (graphic cards etc), so when you tried installing the driver you might have used the wrong one.

The A8M2N-LA is a proprietary motherboard that is used in the m7580n system by HP.  I am just wondering if there is anywhere I can get more information about this motherboard?  Specifically if it will support DDR2 800/667/533 since it uses the AM2 socket set?  Or if it is limited to the DDR2-400?

According to his earlier post, chipset (MCP) drivers were already installed which include all you listed.  I thought all he lacked was sound and video -- a reasonable assumption.  Now let's see if SDLawyer has anything to say.
