Hi Folks,

I am looking for a solution to setup a pc ( windows settings, wallpapers, etc) automatically once the pc is built. Also install certain programs in a certain order automatically. i.e Office 2000 then Acrobat etc. Then reorder desktop, quickLaunch items.

Can this be done by a script or is there software out there that can do this?

Thanks in advance,

Iain

Essentially - set the pc up as you want - then create an image to be used later.

Hi Folks,

Ok, i already ghost the pc and then sysprep it. But what i want is to automate the process up until this stage. When we get a new make and model of a pc we have to go through a lenghthy process setting it up to a default setting (the correct desktop icons, programs installed, standard quicklaunch icons etc)

Can this be done using a script?

Thanks for the replies,

Iain

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

I think the point is - you cannot set Windows up exactly how you want, without some manual intervention.

The unattend file only gives you so many options...

The problem is between the installation, and the software setup stage.

Perhaps another Expert can help out?
