mysql connections

We have just installed our application in about 100 user sites.(all remote)

On the whole it is going OK, but a couple of users keep getting this error

Can\'t connect to mySQL server on [server] 10061 .Socket error on connect. WSAGetLastError return 10061($274D)\

Out application is on the local PC, Mysql data on the server.
My application is written is Delphi, using standard components.

i assume that the application is ran individually on each of the user's sites and all are linked to your mysql data server.
does the error appeares allways in the same computers (same users always getting this error)
then i would try to check what is different with these users. I had a case when a user decided to play with his firewall and deleted all the firewall's rules, thus blocking all data transfer to mysql port 3306. worth checking.
Or does the error randomly appearing everytime with  one or more different users? then maybe the server's limits of connections is worth checking, or maybe the bandwith and so on...
you need to do some debuging and go step by step in order to find out where exactly the problem is.

hope this helps

I think it is random, as sometimes it work other it does.

Dont think it is a user limit, as they only have 2 or 3 users on it.
and I will go back and check. thanks for these comments.
10061 means actively refused. May be check your event log around the same
time to see if mysql died?

users cleared it through permissions
