Zero Channel Raid Card

General question:   What is a zero raid control and how does it integret with a Motherboartd that already has RAID?

I ask becuase the Supermicro X7DVA-E  says it's an option... But that board already has 0,1,5,10

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Basically your motherboard supports RAID for SATA drives only.  The ZCR is for X7DVA-8 only which support SCSI as well.  You need the SCSI ZCR for SCSI drives.
