I am new to cisco and trying to learn.  Can anyone tell me the name of the exam I should start with?  In other words, if they have many different exam books, which one is the one for beginners?

CCNA is the entry level Cisco exam.

If you are brand new to networking in general, you may wish to consider CompTIA network+.  This covers a number of concepts important to Cisco.
