I'm having 2 problems with reporting services:
1) i have my report to group on contract and there are generally 4 or 5 lines per contract, so I don't want to page break in between.  For some reason it is page breaking after every contract.  I check the group properties and it is not set to page break (it is unchecked).
2) i want to have a table footer, so i can have a grand total.  for some reason it is showing the table footer with every grouping break (ie. every contract has a grouping total and a grand total which is the same).  And I never do get my actual grand total.

Is there a setting I'm missing?

1) try deploying your report and see if you still have breaks on your report server. The report preview in Visual Studio tends not to give actual views from time to time

2) if you have groups, you would have group footer and table footer. make sure that you're using table footer and you don't have group specified in your totals, e.g. sum( Fields! MyFields.Value, "grpContracts" )

My problem was some sort of a list object.  No clue where it came from, but once I got rid of it everything started working ok.
