Anyone got a Lexmark C532dn?

Does the C532dn have the extra opening tray for 100 sheets of 'special' paper at the bottom, or just the little slot?

The C530 has the tray; the C532n has the slot; The C534 (all three versions) have the tray.

Lexmark don't know :-)

And, if you answer, where in the world are you? I'm UK, so maybe US or Europe is different...?

Funny, the DN has a different tray setup from the N. Go to the UK Lexmark site at

http://tinyurl.com/33cmdf

If you look at the picture of the printer you'll see there is no manual feed slot. If you click on the "Tech Specs" link, you'll find for "Paper Handling (Standard)":

250-Sheet Output Bin
Integrated Duplex
100-Sheet Multipurpose Feeder
250-Sheet Input Tray

For the C532N, both picture and specs have the single-sheet manual feed

Yes - that's what the web site says. But the lexmark reseller thinks it's wrong, and, apparently, the lexmark UK sales manager isn't that sure either. I was hoping that someone who's actually bought one and has it sitting on their desk might be able to say for sure..

I can see your problem. I've checked some Lexmark websites in different countries and they all talk about the multipurpose tray. But when I visited some resellers' websites, I found pictures of the manual feed, as well as a multipurpose tray. They all seemed to talk about a multipurpose tray, but I now understand why you're worried...

Yup - and the fact that a local reseller has asked his lexmark rep, who doesn't know... who then seems to have asked the UK sales manager who doesn't know...

It doesn't inspire confidence in the product, really. :-(

Lexmark support is not exactly renowned here (Australia) either. I'll ask a local Lexmark rep tomorrow - and hope you'll trust her opinion...

On a more logical note, it would be surprising if the addition of a duplexer also changed the configuration from manual feed to multi-purpose tray.

It doesn't, apparently. (I originally thought it might all be built into the same bit of plastic, but no..)

It's the tray itself - there seem to be versions with a single-slot and versions with a fold-down 100-sheet feeder.  I don't know whether they're pick-and-mix (though you can't buy them separately)

The (cheaper) C530 DOES definitely have a 100-input extra tray, not a slot.

The 3 versions of the C534 (n/dn/dnt) also have it.

I don't seem to be able to get a definite answer out of Lexmark here either. Looks as if you have to buy one to find out...

If they don't even know what they're selling, how good is any after-sales support going to be....???

I think I'll go elsewhere!.

Well, at least down here their support does not seem to be the best. I've heard some very bad reports about it.

And, thanks for the points, although I could not really give you an answer.

You deserve them more than Lexmark would!
