how to install and configure CVS on fedora core 4 and interact with it with clients on WindowsXP

Hi All,
I'm a web developer using php/mysql Ineed to have version control system (I mean CVS)
- I've only one machine that has linux fedora core 4 to make it the server
- all other machines that we have at work are windows XP professional
- I'm seaching about a solution that can integrate that developers working on windows machines to have a client on their PC's that can connect and interact on with the CVS system on fedora core 4.

please help in that I need it very soon. if there is any idea please guide me.

Since it seems you did not install yet a version control system, I would suggest using SVN (subversion) instead of CVS. It is much easier to administer and it provides a lot of extra functionalities when compared with CVS. More info and full documentation here http://subversion.tigris.org/.

I'm no longer using FC4 (I'm on FC6) so... I'm not entierly sure if a simple "yum install subversion" works. If not, take a look at the http://downloads.open.collab.net/collabnet-subversion.html binaries provided by collab.net. The ones for RedHat ES4 should work without problems on FC4.
