I know someone trying to set up a reoccurring calendar appointment with Microsoft Outlook 2003 on random days.  I told her this cannot be done.  She tells me it can.  I thought I would ask the experts for their opinion.  Thanks

How random is random?

You can have recurrances, and you can get pretty specific of their frequency, but it would be insane to assume there is a "surprise me" option in there.

So, what is she actually trying to do?

She would like to create one appointment and pick and choose the dates throughout the year that the appointment should be scheduled on.

With a recurrance you can (as I am sure you are aware) choose to have it happen every year, or every monday, or every second monday, or the first of the month, etc, but you cannot choose 1st Jan, 2nd Jan, 9th Jan, 8th Feb, etc.

For that, I would create an appointment, and then show her how to copy that to other days (hit ctrl and drag it to another day)
