PDF links will not link

I'm using Dreamweaver 8 in OSX -- all of a sudden I am unable to link PDF files into my table documents.

Go to Site | Manage Sites | Export

This is just so that you don't have to recreate the FTP settings, paths, etc.

I had a table which contained both word docs and Pdf docs - it is a table which consists of a list of documents that users can download.  I was adding pdfs and .doc s just fine before - but today I inserted a couple of extra rows via the tab bar and now if I try to drag a pdf file into a box it throws me to code design, and when I go back to design view  - there is nothing in the box... I've never had this happen before...

Does the PDF file have punctuation in the file name?

What happens if you use the link tool (the icon next to the Link box in the Properties Panel that looks like a target reticle)?

I don't see any punctuation in the file names and I have tried the Link to file icon (point-to-file) and I've tried dragging the files...  It seems as if some global change has occured.  If you want to look at the site -http://westwcea.org.temporaryurl.net/documents.html.  There are pdfs in this table that are working just fine - I just can't add any.  I can add Word docs with no problem - but it is rejecting the placing of pdf.s for some reason that I cannot figure out....

I think I know what's happening now - but now why.... As soon as I drag a pdf - it opens the code view and then spills the code - at the top of the page it looks like it is automatically converting the pdf to a html page - which is not what I want - I just want to link the file - like all of the others.  Do you know why this might be happening...?  It's some kind of auto conversion or something like that....

Try to unintall/reinstall DW.  Export your site definitions first.

How do I export the site definitions?  Maybe I'm not understand the term.... The site sits in a folder on my desktop -- what else would I need to do?

I know that DW will attempt to do this with some documents if Contribute is also installed.  But it is not the default behavior otherwise.

That sounds like a good idea -- I think something really goofy happened.  Thanks for your help! I will try that
