Set the DateTimePicker.Value to DateTime.Now in your Forms Load() event:

    Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
        DateTimePicker1.Value = DateTime.Now
    End Sub
