PHP write permissions

Hi i am using PHP on a site that needs to creat folders within wwwroot at one point it could not do this until within windows 2003 server i added IUSR_WEBSERVER write permissions to wwwroot folder!!!!

Is this the correct way to resolve this matter or is there another way?

No, there is no other way, is it really necessary to add the files to wwwroot? Do they need to be available for the webserver? If not you could create a folder that is not accessible via the IIS, but only for the PHP script...
