Recomended LVM logical volume

what are the recomended linux partitions can be made LVM logical volume in the RHEL4 , can i make the following LVM logical volume partitions:
/home
/opt
/usr
/work ( for file sharing)
/var

I think /boot ,swap and / are not supposed to be kept under LVM , please suggest me

yes you are rigth in my servers i have the same conf like you but i suppress work and opt but is my installations... any way try to keep /boot out of lvm

and RHEL have a disk druid to make automagically this thinks
