Making Flash FLV Player

I've made a little flash file that displays a specified, external FLV file. That's all good and it works for that FLV. I want to be able to reuse this SWF file so I can play different FLV files.

I'd like to pass the filename in as a parameter in the HTML... But I don't have a clue how!

Can somebody walk me through this process? I'm not comfortable in Flash, so I might need beating with a stick (or having things explained to me -- whichever has the intended effect faster) if you think I'm being stupid.

you can do it by attaching the url on the end of the movie name in the object and embed code (they are called query strings)..eg
in the object code..
<PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="live.swf?url=http://www.yoursite.com/your.flv">
and in the embed code..
<embed src="live.swf?url=http://www.yahoo.com/your.flv"

in your flash there is now a variable available on load called url
so on the first frame of the main timeline..
this.onLoad = function(){
getURL(_root.url, "_root.xxx");    //xxx is the target..which is your flv player..so this is the path to your player
 }
