Hide data on PDF

Hi experts,
I have many users viewing the same PDF document.
For 1 user role i want to hide some information in PDF and for other role i want to hide different information.
Is there any way to hide data in PDF document other than masking with images.

The most common way of approaching this problem is to generate the PDF docs.  The content would be different for the different user roles.  iText is one open source project for generating PDF docs.

If you can buy a commercial product, this one seems to do what you want:

Merge data into existing PDF docs.

If you are really hiding information, then you might want to use steganography.  It doesn't sound like that is your goal, but here is more info on how to do that:
