I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

With the option disabled, you will still receive the automatic responses if the email is not leaving the Exchange organization.  Have you verified that the automated response is leaving the exchange org?  IE - send an email from a Hotmail account to the email address with the automatic response.  You shouldn't receive the response.

You are right, I just tested it, no replies from outside, replies still in the inside, can I turn off auto-replies for the inside?
