Veritas 10 not backing up on server where new install of SQL 2005 was done

SQL 2005 installed on a 2003 server. After install Veritas 10 using an msde on another drive on same server won't backup anything on that server. Network backups work but for that server it fails. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Directory was not found, or could not be accessed. None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up.

Final error: 0xe00084af - THe directory or file was not found or could not be accessed.

Verify that the SQL Server service account for the SQL Server 2005 instance has the proper permissions to the drive\folder you are trying to back up to.

Also verify that the system account has full control to the root of the drive you are trying to backup to.

That is not the issue. We are not trying to back up SQL. We are just trying to back up folders on the server that SQL 2005 is installed on.

Also, this worked fine before installing SQL 2005.

Sorry my misuderstanding. It sounded like you were having problems backing up SQL Server.

Hi biotec,
Did you ever suss this problem out? I am having similar issues with veritas 10 since moving some folders from another server and now it won't back up. Credentials all seem fine, but I have no backups for that server which is the main file server. I'm very scared!!!
