Unable to install monitor driver successfully

I have just purchased an LG 204WT monitor, but cannot get the monitor driver (inf) to install successfully. Everytime I try to update the monitor driver I get an error message after the install takes place:

An error occured while installing this device
The data is invalid

I have the correct Windows XP driver and had this issue with my Viewsonic VP730. At the moment, the monitor driver in device manager reads 'Plug and Play Monitor'. Can anyone help me to get this driver installed. Thanks in advance

WIth plug  Play the monitor will work in most modes.

I would download the if file from the manufacturers site, but it may ot even be needed for XP.

Double check,

I hope this helps !

Also, you may need to set the monitor to VGA mode or safe mode boot before installing te driver.
