I have no AS 400 background. I need to FTP a winzip'ed file from a microsoft servver to a AS/400. Is there a way in which AS 400 could unzip this file?

Easiest way is with the Java jar command which can be executed as a Qshell utility. That assumes that the Qshell option of OS/400 is installed.

Intro to jar can be seen by first running the QSH command from an OS/400 command line to get into the Qshell environment. Then type jar on the QSH command line and press <enter>. Usage info will be displayed.

Java jar can both zip and unzip.

If that can't be made to work, PKZIP is available for OS/400; but that's a cost that might be avoided.
