Acrobat 7.0.9 INCONSISTENCIES in application!  (Preferences section)

I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0.9 installed on my computer running Windows XP and for whatever reason, I am missing some options.

If you go to Edit -- Preferences -- Security -- Advanced Preferences, at the very bottom of the screen there should be a button to select "Hide Signature field validity icon when signature is valid" option.  I don't have it.

I went section by section thru the entire Preferences section.  The only other options that were different were in the Startup section.  Under the "Display the Document Status dialog when these status items appear:" section, I have the SAME options, and the same options selected, I just have the list in a different order.

I don't have any other versions of Acrobat on my PC.. including Reader.
I performed the "Detect and Repair" option.
All updates have been installed.

In trying to figure this out, I finally decided to completely uninstall and then reinstall the application.  
I reinstalled and applied all the updates, and it's EXACTLY the same!   arghh.

I need to use the ""Hide Signature field validity icon when signature is valid" option.  And I can't.  I'm totally baffled and frustrated.  Any ideas? clues? suggestions?

This option is only available on the Professional version - as far as I am aware.

Have a look at the version you are using - is this Standard?

Okay - have you tried uninstalling - but then running a registry cleaner? (such as Registry Mechanic - http://www.pctools.com/registry-mechanic/) Then you can reinstall - and hopefully no old problems would remain.

Do you get the same problem when you install the original version? (first release of this version) - i.e. 7.0.0

Have you tried reinstalling - and only upgrading to 7.0.8?

No.  I just uninstalled and reinstalled.  Will try the registry cleaner!  Good call.  
Won't get a chance to do this until Monday though.. it's my office computer!
I will post my results.

Ok, I did the uninstall, ran the registry cleaner, then reinstalled.
I checked after the original installation, and after each update.  Still no luck.  

Here's the answer I got on another forum...  Thank goodness for forums.. that's all I can say!

You should be able to see the radio button once you have changed the DPI to "96 normal"
Steps
Open display properties
advanced
on DPI setting change it to "Normal size (96 DPI)
OK
It should work now. If not, restart the computer.

How this guy figured this out, I'll never know!!  Geez!!
My settings were "custom", not "normal".  The menus are apparently created dynamically.
