If you are talking about having it show up on the start menu then try this, right click start, goto properties, choose start menu and click customize. Then goto the advanced tab and scroll down to my computer and make sure it doesn't say "Do not display".

If you are wanting the shortcut to be on the desktop, right click on the desktop and choose properties. Then goto the Desktop tab and at the bottom choose "Customize Desktop". At the top of the general tab you have the options for which shortcuts to display on the desktop. Choose the ones  you want.
