"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

CM has an app called IPMA for (IP Manager/Assistant) services which allows a DND feature. Link to user guide: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps5015/products_user_guide_chapter09186a00802d11c8.html

the warnings at the beginning of the IPMA configuration wizard are a bit discomforting.  is there a way to enable this feature without running through this whole setup?

As far as I know the DND feature is not something supported natively in CM which means you're kind of stuck to running it through the installed app, sorry.
