I need help filing an IRS form online

if you click the link to this IRS form:
http://www.irs.gov/app/scripts/retriever.jsp
you are then told to go to w w w d o t i r s d o t g o v to file form 4868 using E-file
When I go to the above website on the left side I see E-file.
I've clicked that and looked around and I am not seeing how to select the form you wish to file online.
Can anyone help?

form 4868
Here's info on form 4886:

http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/article/0,,id=98155,00.html

The form itself is a .pdf for download:

http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4868.pdf

Apparently there is no way to file this 6-month extension of time to file online:

http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq-kw49.html

"..you can electronically file your return after April 15th. Electronically filed tax returns are accepted until October 15th. However, for your return to be considered timely after April 15, you must file  Form 4868 (PDF), an  Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File, on or before April 15th."

if you click the link in my question and read that paragraph it says you can file form 4886 online.
I'll just call them or send it in thru the mail.

it is still not working. you'd have to click forms and pubs on the left side, schroll down to form 4868 in the middle and click on that and then click on the next link to get to the PDF and the E-file part.

Good luck nickg5. I think it's reprehensible that the IRS teases taxpapers with verbiage about filing this extension online in many of their documents and then does not provide it.
