Hi.

I have Brother MFC-8860DN multi-function printer/fax/scanner.  It broke, was under warranty, and Brother sent out a replacement.

New one works fine, but when I try to scan, it says it cannot connect to the scanner, giving this error message:

"MFC-8860DN USB cannot be found.   Please make sure device is ON and interface cable is properly connected to computer.  (CC027)"

I've uninstalled and reinstalled all latest drivers.  It works fine on a different machine (but I need it on this one!)  All other functions (fax, copy, etc. work fine).

One thing I've noticed is after uninstalling there are numerous registry entries remaning for the machine.  Some cannot be manually deleted.
