It should unless the builtin\administrators group has been removed or been removed from the sysadmin role.

I installed SQL Express on my workstation some time ago and don't remember what password I assigned to sa.<br />

I can login using Windows authentication, but it doesn't allow me to do any operations, such as add a database. Is there a way to reset the password, or do I have to remove and reinstall SQL in order to proceed.?<br />
