[JSP] Use of Cookies

Hi,

Since I can store objects in the session,
I can't see what cookies are for ...
And I hear a lot about cookies.

What are they used for in comparison with sessions,
and a concrete example will help !

Thank !!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Cookies are stored on the client, not the server. Cookies are used to record preferences on the client and also session info

Do you mean you want to understand the difference between storing session state in HttpSession and using cookies?
