Need some help to fix this error in the event viewer repeatably

Description:
NTDS (696) NTDSA: The database page read from the file "C:\WINDOWS\NTDS\ntds.dit" at offset 524288 (0x0000000000080000) for 8192 (0x00002000) bytes failed verification due to a page checksum mismatch.  The expected checksum was 3131193704 (0xbaa23968) and the actual checksum was 979125632 (0x3a5c4580).  The read operation will fail with error -1018 (0xfffffc06).  If this condition persists then please restore the database from a previous backup.  This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem.

As the message says - Active Directory looks like it is corrupt. Try using NTDSUTIL with the repair option. If that fails you could try a non-authorative restore of AD (assuming you have a backup!)
