Thunderbird & IMAP4 purge/expunge option

I've got Thunderbird installed & have a pair of IMAP4 accounts it is monitoring.  On both accounts, I have the deletion settings set to Mark as Deleted & this is working great (I use the accounts with multiple clients and this is the best setting for me).  Trouble is, I can't see the option to manually expunge/purge the folder... Where is it?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Barthax,

To purge the email from a folder, right click on the folder and select Compress.

You can also create a Purge button on toolbar. Add the extension Buttons!

Thanks war1.  Just for clarity the option I get is "Compact This Folder".
