How do I give my samba server an alias name

At present the Samba server for my "test" data is \\server1\test

Can I have a Netbios name setup for server1.
A Netbios name of "myserver" giving
\\myserver\test

How do I do the above?

Sure look in your smb.conf and add lines similar to the following.


# Global parameters
        workgroup = SAJD-DOMA
        netbios name = EVIL
        netbios aliases = SAJD-SRV01
