We installed  Sybase ASE 12.5.3 on Windows 2003.    Whenever Sybase is started, this msg appears at the errorlog:

NT operating system error 258 in module 'e:\ase1253\porttree\svr\sql\generic\ksource\strmio\n_winsock.c' at line 1232: The wait operation timed out.

Any ideas what this means and how to get rid of this msg?   There is no ase1253  at the  e:\ drive.
ASE still come up ok.   We can isql and run queries, as well as do a dump.

Thanks.

Take a look here http://www.experts-exchange.com/Microsoft/Development/MS-SQL-Server/Q_21904262.html

It looks like it is a timeout issue.

Hi,  sorry for the delayed response.    The project has been put on hold and we will not have access to the server until  the project is resumed.  So, I cannot check on anything.  But thanks for link.  We will check out the connectionn timeout later.
