I have two fields.  Address1 and Address2.
If address1 is blank I would like to show address2 in its place.

Use a formula
Name - MyAddress
If (IsNull({Address1Field}) OR ({Address1Field} = "") then
  {Address2Field}
else
  {Address1Field}
