Notepad will work. :^)

Just save this to a text file using notepad and run it

'MyTest.vbs
Wscript.Echo "Hello world!"

Free Tool: ZipGrep

ZipGrep is a utility that can list and search zip (.war, .ear, .jar, etc) archives for text patterns, without the need to extract the archive's contents.

One of a set of tools we're offering as a way to say thank you for being a part of the community.

*Working with script editor which may detect failed lines or arguments is better than notepad in my opinion. Following link contains some.

vbs Is Not VB.
If you're working inside a VB coding environment, your vbs code will report syntax errors based upon VB code...

Use something like http://www.vbsedit.com/
