Locked BIOS Setting - IBM Thinkpad T40

Hi All,

I really need some help here...

I have 8 IBM Thinkpads (T40), where I enabled "Lock BIOS Settings" in the Security Menu.
Believe it or not, I actually know the password - but can't work out hot to disable it.

In the security menu, I can see it's enabled, but trying to use the arrow keys up to the option doesn't work. It will only allow me to change the Power-on-Password. I also want to remove that.. but it says I need to disable locked BIOS Settings first - and now i'm going round in circles.

Can anyone help me as to trying to 'Correctly' disable the Locked BIOS Settings?

Unfortunately there is no way to remove this password, and just feel lucky that you know what it is. Check out the page below if you don't remember the passwords.

So just to confirm.. I cannot disable "Lock BIOS Settings" even though I know the password?

It's a bit of a pain because I don't own these laptops, they've just been hired from an external company :(
