SQL SERVER 2005 job notification

I set up an notification for a job that I have running in SQL SERVER 2005.  I know that the database mail is set up properly because I had it send a test email to my email addresss and it worked fine.  But, for some reason I keep getting this error message every night when the job finishes.

[264] An attempt was made to send an email when no email session has been established

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?  Thanks
