I am a .NET 1.1 web programmer and want some reccomendations for a book that focuses on SQL Server 2005 and .NET programming. For my job I have to design and implement enterprise databases using sql server 2005 (stored procs, functions, views, etc.)
I Need a book that covers sql server 2005 from a programmers perspective and not a DBA perspective.

Dear itwoods4

I will recommend some of the books I always use as a reference:

these will come in handy for SQL Server 2005 Programming:
Professional ADO.NET 2.0 (Programming with SQL Server 2005, Oracle and MySQL) - [Wrox]
Expert ASP dot NET 2.0 Advanced Application Design 2005 - [Apress]

This will come in handy hence you are using .NET 1.1:
Programming Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET - MS Press -

these will get you started and get you further into developing real time applications:

Hope this helps

good luck.
