Could you provide more information?  Such as make and model of your printer?  Stand-alone, shared, or network?

There are third party applications to do this for you, such as:

What models?  I'll have to check the service manuals, not all of their menu items are the same.

Here's a link to the pdf manual for the 4200 (5mb download).
http://epswww.unm.edu/help/HP4200EN.pdf
Do a search in the doc for "Event log", most information found on pages 79 (77), 86 (84), and 167 (169).  These should explain how to print out the event log.  If the event log does not have the information you need, then you'll have to look at third part software to start tracking the specific jobs.

Link to pdf manual for 4250 (3.7 mb download).
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00218691/c00218691.pdf
Same as above, most info on pages 240 (228), 118 (106).

Could you clarify your last post?  I'm not sure what you need.

If the event log on the printer doesn't give you what you need, you may be looking at a third party software solution as described above.

actually i need to have information that which files (document name) is printed by which user or from which pc from a printer.

michkoCommented:
Ok.  Then you're going to have to use 3rd party software.  The HP 4200 does not keep informatino regarding what files were printed by which user or pc.

Here's a link to a few programs that will do this.  Most have a trial version:
http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tg=dl-20&qt=track%20printer&tag=srch

Only one was listed as free (others are shareware):
http://www.download.com/PaperCut-Print-Logger/3000-2088_4-10553540.html?tag=lst-0-9

My disclaimer - I do not have personal experience with any of these programs.  They all say they will track what you need, any further decisions are all yours.

Hi
Actually I have checked some third party software which weren’t sufficient and also  those are not trusted software’s, creates problem as I face that with using paperCut print logger,  print request goes to the software but wasn’t printed from printer. So for that I didn’t try any other third party software............

If you won't use third party software, and since HP doesn't support logging of the information you're looking for, your answer is that you can't do it with these restrictions.

Yeah but what i thought that most of the HP Printers has its own memory, so for that i raze the case that here should be some an option. If you think there is no such option in windows or in HP printers, so thanks and then please close the case.

ait_it - thank you for closing the question and being fair with the grading.  It is appreciated.

I've looked into this before, and had to fall back on the third party software solution.  I believe I exhausted every avenue with HP.  If you are able to find a way to do this using just HP's logs, please let me know.  Best of luck.
