SAP and Java

If i have SAP finance module, How could I get data from SAP?

You can push the data from SAP as  an iDOC and you need to write a parser for the idocor you can write some BAPI in SAP which collects the data and call that BAPI from java(This I am not so sure),

Both of the above can be done with the help some kind of integration servers using there SAP adapters which is capable of calling the BAPI or processing the iDOC

websphere,weblogic and oracle has there own SAP integration adapters, or else you can use webmethods or tibco

iDoc statnds for IntermediateDocument, as far as I know it can be in XML format also,
