I want to get a unique identifier from a cell phone.  It can be a phone number or SID or really anything.

I'm using J2ME and the netbean's mobility package

Use the International Mobile Equipment Identity - all mobile phones have their own unique IMEI number (can be shown by dialing *#06# on phone).

Use something like System.getProperty("phone.imei")
