Sendmail Smtp Authentication?

I have a few html sites with forms that I need e-mailed upon submission. I have a php script that will e-mail the data but getting the e-mail to send via sendmail is where I am running into problems. There is not an smtp engine on the webserver and the one I need to use requires authentication which is my problem.

Server specifications:
os=Windows 2003 Server
webserver=Apache 2.0.59
php=php4

I have tried to install phpmailer but I can not get it to work. The documentation I have found is for linux and is not very detailed. I am still somewhat new to scripting and what not. If someone could post some solutions I would appreciate it.

Can indigomail be configured so that apache/php use it automatically?

PHPMailer... Ick... :)

It was a good php mailing library, but it has been eclipsed by Swiftmailer by d11wtq. http://swiftmailer.org for more details.

More specifically: http://swiftmailer.org/wikidocs/v3/connections/smtp#if_you_need_to_use_authentication

With SwiftMailer, you are also easily able to use gmail's servers if you have no other alternative.

If you need any further help, just ask! The sites above should be more than enough to fix the problems :)
