view outlook 2003 image attachements inline

hi, there; using outlook 2003, when i receive emails with image attachements (i.e. jpgs gifs), i must click on each individually to view.

what i would prefer is to have the images appear inline and scroll to view them.  this is possible in outlook express and, if possible, is probably a security setting in outlook 2003.

is anyone aware of how to resolve this?

thanks.

Greetings vbnewbie01,

With Outlook 2003, if sender send the file attached to a Rich Text formatted email, then you will see the attachment inline.  Have sender send the email in RTF format.

Outlook 2003 do not have the same settings as Outlook Express.

Best wishes, war1

hi, war1; thanks for the response.

i just sent myself an RTF email message and the image was actually received as an attachement.

in outlook, i created an email via: actions > new message using > rich text

from there, i attached an image, sent it to myself and it was received as an attachment.

i will award you the points for answering my question (essentially, i've since read elsewhere that it can't be done), but if you can think of a way, feel free to update.  thanks again.
