Remote Desktop Web Connection Cannot Be Installed... Help!

Last Modified: 2013-11-21
Windows Server 2003 Std Edition
Windows XP Professional

I am trying to login to a computer at one of my customer's offices with the Remote Desktop Web Connection feature.

I enter the IP address then the virtual director as instructed.
The Windows XP machine I am using to remote control the system says " Remote Desktop Web Connection ActiveX control could not be installed. A connection to cannot be made without a working installed version of the control."  comes up.

I checked and verified the port forward on the firewall.

What can I do to fix this?

The most recent set of windows updates was loaded and now this doesn't work. Also IE 7 was installed and I am running it as well on the machine I am trying to connect with.
