system recovery from boot

Last Modified: 2010-03-05
i'm having difficulty booting into windows [xp prof sr2] [cant boot into safe mode either] and would like to use automated system recovery which i've had previous success with. yet when i boot using the win xp install cd and click on F2, it asks for a windows automated system recovery disk [floppy] which i don't have, and cannot make unless i can boot into windows. any recommendations, or do i have to just completely reinstall windows which i've recently done. a major pain, and i would certainly appreciate any advice to allow me to recover without reinstallation. thanks for any help.
