Sharing values between usercontrols

Looking for a way to share a value between usercontrols (.ascx).
Lets say I have a usercontrol called customer, and on this usercontrols I have several other usercontrols like OrderHistory, activeorders and so on.
The Customer.ascx can be used on several .aspx or in grids as editforms.
My question is how to share for example CustomerID between the usercontrols?
If I have a porperty called CustomerID on each page this works fine, during the initial load, but as soon as the ascx postbacks the value changes.
I know I can use a hidden textbox on Customer.ascx and set this value when If(!IsPostback), but is the no other way?
