Incremental backup stores all files that have changed since the last normal (full), differential or incremental backup. The advantage of an incremental backup is that it takes the least time to complete.
Differential backup contains all files that have changed since the last normal backup. The advantage of a differential backup is that it takes less time to restore.
First backup is always normal, next are incremental or differential, depends if you want to have fast backup or fast restore.
