Tabbing multiple lines of text on my Mac

justdriveon asked
Last Modified: 2013-11-24
Got my first Mac about a month ago (a MacBook), so I'm still getting it all figured out.  This one evades me in Google.

In text-based editors in Windows, I can select several lines of text then press the tab key to tab over all lines at once.  Similarly, I can shift-tab to back up all lines at once.  It comes in handy when formatting my HTML and XML files.  How do I do this on my Mac?
