Experts,

We've been experiencing tremendous delays hitting our DB, and I had a quick question that I was looking for some oppinions on.  We use MYSQL, and it appears the connections are staying active although the user isn't retrieving any info from the db.  I just went into CF admin, and noticed maintain connections acorss client requests is checked, and the timeout(min) was set at 30 and Interval(min) was set at 7.  We have had anywhere from 250-300 concurrent users connecting to MYSQL, which is bigging down our servers.  My question is, should I set the timeout(min) at something like 2 minutes?  The reason that I ask is if they are not submitting data or retrieving data, then why keep the connection open?  Any suggestions on this would be appreciated
