I have the following - which, what I am trying to do - is take a table query and collapse into a csv string and then put it into a temp table - but am getting this error:  An INSERT statement cannot contain a SELECT statement that assigns values to a variable.

Here is what I have now:

DECLARE @outparm int
DECLARE @listStr VARCHAR(1000)
DECLARE @listStr2 VARCHAR(1000)
DECLARE @ppid int
SET @ppid = 23

CREATE TABLE #TempData (CountField varchar(50) Not Null)
INSERT INTO #TempData (CountField)

SELECT @listStr = COALESCE(@listStr+',' , '') + cp_tblEquipment.Equipment + ' - ' + cp_tblEquipmentProjectPhase_rel.equipmentCost
FROM cp_tblEquipmentProjectPhase_rel, cp_tblEquipment
WHERE cp_tblEquipmentProjectPhase_rel.equipmentid = cp_tblEquipment.equipmentid AND cp_tblEquipmentProjectPhase_rel.projectphaseid =  @ppid

PRINT @listStr
