sendmail and exchange
Ok I am migrating users from sendmail to exchnage 2007 one user at a time.Right now I can recieve email from sendmail on the exchnage box and I can email internally but cannot email out of the network. How can I setup sendmail so I can relay but not affect the current users that are using the sendmail box? Oh yeah I have the exchange box send connector pointed to the ip address of the sendmail box as a smart host.
you need to edit the relay-domains file in sendmail in /etc/mail to allow that domain. But you also need to have exchange setup with an SMTP connector pointing at the sendmail box or set it up as a smarthost in the SMTP properties.

whats strange is I can send email internally to toher users that are not on the exchnage box they are on the sendmail box but I cannot send to the outside.
Theone,
If it is in the same name space ahould not have to however you do want to make sure you can ping it if you are only using the hostname to ensure that the relay-domain is able to get to the exchange box.
Make sure that mail is getting to send mail by checking the queues as well to determine if it is even getting to sendmail :)
