Here is our problem :) we have a db2 database that would like to keep synch with a SQL database. We are looking into db2 data propagator, but according to the infromation it looks like we still need another prodcut called data joiner. is this correct? If not can someone explain a bit better how it all suppose to work with data propagator. here is a link where I found some infor but its very basic. thank a million.

I dont think data joiner is your product, its for Iseries or Z/OS. Could you explain your scenario in more detail? You want real time synch?
actually data joiner is a name of an older product that was replaced by another product
that product is called websphere information intgration (wii) for udb version 8
and it is called websphere federation servecr for udb version 9
this is the same product which expands the abilities of the data propagator and allows you to replicate data to other rdbms vendors such as sql server

Thanks, so that means I need to get websphere deferation server for udb version 9 on top of data propagator?

ghp7000 I have an iSeries, yes real time from iSeries to remote SQL database
actually i don't know how ibm market and license these products
but the data propagator has a component named capture that will scan the iseries db2 log files and find the data that was updated and store it in tables, and then a component named apply can put that data in another database
the federation server is a different product that can simulate a sql server as a db2 udb, and it performs replications to those other vendors using mechanisms such as trigger
so i think you will need both products
