Edit the GPO and go to Computer configuration, software settings, software installation.
The list of programs that gets installed should be there.

How do I remove a program from that list?
Is it under the computer section or user section that has the list of apps?
When you are editing the gpo right click on the software application name you want to remove and select "all tasks/remove application".  Then you can choose to immediately uninstall or let them keep using the program.  Hit OK.

Next the gpo's have to refresh on the clients side.

Another thing could be a startup or login script that installs the programs, but I doubt it.
